In 1705, the pirates took complete control of Nassau, chasing out Governor Robert Thompson and ending the illusion of British control. Despite Scott's rules forbidding it, Eleanor would sneak out to visit the tent city on the beach, where the pirates lived. Her father began using the family company's ships to sell the pirates' cargo posed as legitimate goods.ĭuring the War of the Spanish Succession, Nassau became the base of many pirates and privateers. Scott's wife and daughter were also slaves of Guthrie's, and she and Eleanor were playmates as children. She was educated by her father’s houseboy slave Mr.
She is the only daughter of Richard Guthrie, the wealthiest black marketeer in the port. Unfortunately, while her relationships with Max, Flint and Madi improved, she was killed in Season Four by a Spanish soldier, protecting Madi.Įleanor was probably born in Boston, the base of operations of the Guthrie family and the Guthrie Trading Company, but moved to Nassau as a young child. Eleanor wielded considerable influence, leading her to form a pact with Captain Flint that will either bring her dream of complete independence to fruition, or doom it entirely.
Left by her father to oversee all his dealings with the pirates in Nassau, Eleanor owned and operated the tavern on Nassau’s main street.
